Guidelines for Authors

General:

Before submitting the manuscript, the author has to ensure that the paper is not published or under any consideration for publication by any other journal. The submitting author is responsible for ensuring that all other co-authors have given their approval for the paper to be published. It is preferred to submit a manuscript as a single file, Word document, containing high quality figures if any. Tables and figures must be presented with captions within the main body of the manuscript only.

Review Policy :

All manuscripts are subject to a double-blind review process. All the contributions willinitially be assessed by the editor. Thereafter, the papers deemed suitable would be sent to aminimum of two independent expert reviewers to assess the quality of the paper. The finaldecision regarding acceptance or rejection of articles/ paper rests with Editorial Board ofIJOS.

Publishing Ethics :

The publication of an article in a peer-reviewed journal is a critical component in theformation of a cohesive and well-respected knowledge network. It is a direct reflection of thewriters’ and institutions’ ability to generate quality work. Peer-reviewed articles support andembody the scientific method. As a result, it’s critical to agree on norms of expected ethicalbehavior for all the stakeholders of the journal: the author, the journal editor, the peerreviewer, the publisher etc.

Plagiarism Policy :

The authors must submit the plagiarism report along with their manuscript. Authors to ensurethat plagiarised content is within the permissible limits i.e., 10 percent.

Guidelines for Manuscript Preparation

Types of Manuscripts considered in IJOS Journals

Length

Research Paper/Article: 3500-5000 words
Research Review/General Article: 1000-2000 words
Book Review: 500-1500 words

Manuscript Preparation :

Manuscript should be computer typed in double spacing on one side of A4 size white paper, leaving wide margins on both sides. Prepare and submit the manuscript strictly as per "Guidelines for Authors".

Page 1: Title and Authorship Information should contain the following information:

  • 1. Title of the manuscript: Short, informative, should not exceed two lines. Numbers and abbreviations should NOT be included.
  • 2. Author(s) name(s): The names should be in the order: first and middle names and then surname (family name), Check that all names are spelled correctly.
  • 3. Author(s) affiliations: Full designation, professional address with postal code and mobile number of corresponding author.
  • 4. E-mail ID: of Corresponding author only

Page 2 should contain Title of the manuscript, followed by Abstract, and Key words.

To facilitate the review process, Name(s) and address (es) of the author(s) should not be given on this and subsequent pages of the text.

5. Content of Abstract: The abstract should be self-contained and should not exceed 200 words, with no references and abbreviations.

6. Key words: only 4-5 Key words to serve as subject index.

Page 3 and onward should contain Text proper which should be subdivided into the following main headings for Research Paper/Article

A. Introduction/Context e. Sub-items with headings relating to:

  • Field Situations/Scenario
  • Emerging issues, sub issues

B. Literature review/Theoretical background

C. Methodology

D. Findings and discussion

E. Conclusion and suggestion

G. Acknowledgments (if any).

H. References in single space in APA format.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that the information in each reference is complete and accurate.

Reference style

= ‘APA’ (American Psychological Association). Text: Citations in the text should follow the referencing style used by the American Psychological Association, Seventh Edition. If more than one paper by the same author(s) from the same year are cited, a, b, c, etc., should be put after the year of publication. All references should be alphabetically listed at the end of the paper in the following standard format:

Checklist for submission :

Before submitting the manuscript, author(s) should check the following list:

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word file
  • Manuscript has been made in the light of Journal’s author guidelines.
  • Author(s) has mention his or her name and affiliation in the main text
  • Author(s) has gone through the guideline of the journal.
